Let's Play Chess Advanced Tournament Preparation Class

 

What:

An advanced (1000+) tournament preparation class held Friday evenings designed to prepare students for open tournaments. This class features a U1800 curriculum focusing on improving tournament results with proven methods and is held on Fridays to provide maximum preparation for weekend tournaments.


When:

We offer one tournament preparation class this summer:

Who:

Coach Mathew Benson has coached chess since 2005. His students have won a variety of local, state, national, and international championships. They have competed in multiple World Youth Chess Championships and been selected to the All-America Team.

Notes:

Enrollment is open to intermediate/advanced students through June 2017. Space is limited. Full registration required. The curriculum will emphasize thinking techniques, focus, concentration, endgames, tactics, strategies and drills. Classes will feature lectures, problems, weekly homework, sparring, and supervised play. Only Team LPCC may drop-in ($25/class). The classes may be merged depending on enrollment. Enrolled students receive a complementary board vs GM Bojkov, IM Panchanatham, and GM Sadorra during their respective LPCC visits.


Rates:

Tuition = $225. Discounts (5% each) are available for sibling co-enrollment and current LPC students. Returning LPC Advanced Tournament Preparation students may take an additional 10% off.
